Are you planning a trip with your dog on a Stena Line ferry? This article shares our experience and provides useful tips for other dog owners to ensure their pet’s welfare. It covers the differences between leaving your pet in the on-board cage vs a dog-friendly cabin, dog walking hours, safety tips, etc. We took the Liepaja – Travemunder route, but these tips should apply to all other Stena Line routes as there’s a uniform company policy about transporting dogs.
This article will explain how tourists can get the Skopje Public Transport Card or ‘Skopska card’.
The Skopje Bus Card is a rechargeable smart card that allows you to pay for your bus fare. It is the only way how tourists can use the public transport system, as cash is not accepted on buses.
The card costs 150 MKD (approximately 2.6 USD), and comes with 2 pre-paid tickets. While you can purchase the card only at the Skopje Public Transport Authority JSP offices, you can top it up in most newsstands and kiosks, and most accept credit card payments.
Ventanas de Guimar Business Card Ventanas de Guimar is probably the most unique trail in the Canary Islands, blending the best of nature with human ingenuity. You’ll get to hike almost 3 miles / 5 km in man-made tunnels carved out in rock of mountains. You’ll also get to see the best side of Tenerife’s…
The TF-5 trail has one of the longest ridge walks in the whole of Anaga Rural Park. The trail starts in the Chamorga village, which is the trailhead of the popular TF-6 trail. In addition to the ridge walk, the TF-5 trail takes you through several villages, through a laurel forest. It is a lovely trail that’s not too hard and is suited for children and older hikers.
There’s a reason why the TF-8 is the most popular and probably the best of all Anaga hiking trails by popular judgment. No other trail offers such a balanced cross-section of everything the nature park has to offer – scenic views, villages, ocean walk, diverse flora, visit to Anaga peaks, even a wine-growing region – in one hike. The TF-8 trail is also easier to access compared another iconic hike – the TF-6 Chamorga trail. TF-8 is circular, allowing hikers to arrive and depart by car from the same location. If you have time for just one hike in Tenerife, the TF-8 is probably it!
The TF-6 circular trail is one of the most popular and recommended trails in the Anaga Rural Park along with the TF-6 and TF-11 trails. TF-6 circular trail is a great introduction to the stunning natural beauty of the Anaga Mountains (Macizo de Anaga). Starting in the charming village of Chamorga, the trail winds its way through a barranco (ravine is Spanish), past the Faro de Anaga lighthouse and a number of other landmarks before returning to Chamorga.
This guide to official hiking trails in the Anaga Rural Park will provide an overview of all the official trails based on such characteristics as length, “circularity”, difficulty, but also the scenery, suitability for kids, etc. The ranking is based on my personal experience of hiking or running these trails during our family’s in Tenerife in 2022 and 2023 by myself, with my kids or fellow hikers.

Renting a car in Tenerife will significantly increase satisfaction with your Canary Islands holiday, unless you plan to spend all of your holiday while lounging at the hotel pool or the beach.
While visually impressive by themselves, the Saint Sebastian catacombs’ main ‘selling point’ is that with the help of a highly competent guide the visit will give you a concentrated insight into the inner workings of Roman society two millennia ago at its heyday, including customs, social order, construction methods and much more.
Canyoning the Barranco de los Arcos (‘barranquismo’ in Spanish) is a must-do activity for adventurous travellers in Tenerife, and you don’t have to be an experienced mountaineer to do it. The canyon is very beautiful even by Tenerife standards, and you are guaranteed to get a nice experience and memories for many years to come.
The Anaga Rural Park has official trails numbered from TF-1 to TF-12, however, sharp-eyed hikers will notice that the TF-7 trail is nowhere to be found on official maps and the GPS navigation apps. This article will explain why.
Teide National Park is the nature reserve around the Teide Volcano in Tenerife of the Canary Islands. It is by far the best-known hiking area on the island, but there are several more just as deserving of your attention. Different, but just as stunning is the Anaga Rural Park which you should also check out…
